As a geeky introvert who has made a grand effort to create a geeky safe space to call home, it’s hard to have people I don’t know over. It’s like allowing the unknown into my home. Who are you? What do you like? What if you hate everything I love? Now you’re in my space and we’re both uncomfortable.
I’ve spent so much of my life trying to fit in and not really being myself that I have completely lost interest in all pretense. So whenever someone wants to come over who doesn’t understand the way of the geek I get a bit of anxiety at having to entertain in my safe space while not completely being myself.
Does anyone feel the same way? How do you entertain when you don’t know someone in your party?
greetings fellow humans! human fellas!
WELCOME TO THE GEEKED OUT LIFESTYLE
The Geeked Out Life is a lifestyle brand and blog created to empower readers to live their geek and to express their love for all things geeky through their everyday lifestyle.
This Geeked Out Life Blog is a geeky lifestyle blog unlike any other because it is geek-centered and inspired. You will find posts about life as a geek and the interests that surround us. Although geeky fashion will be peppered throughout, that’s not all this blog is. We’ll talk about gaming, TV and movies, fandom and collectibles, as well as home decor and design, makeup, relationships and self-love, and topics surrounding and affecting the geek community.
I hope this blog becomes more than just a fun read. My hope is for this to evolve into a community of geeky like-minded people sharing our love of, well, geeky things which includes fashion and geek-inspired outfits, beauty, home decor, conventions, and the latest episode of our favorite shows and movies. I hope you connect with others just like you, and I hope you stick around.
I love expressing myself and connecting with my geeky community (that’s you!) through my writing and art to empower you to live your geek and love yourself. This blog should be a safe space that inspires you all to be creative, live for self-love, and embrace being different.
Personally? I love geeking out about my favorite fandoms; I love being a geek and doing geeky things (I also obviously love saying the word ‘geek’… lol). Everyone should feel comfortable and passionate enough to geek out about what they love. I am committed to encouraging everyone who finds this blog a home to incorporate the geeky things they love into their everyday lives, and to geek out with me! I want to create a place that lets people simply be who they are. You should be allowed to live your authentic selves despite mainstream society’s opinions on what to do, eat, buy, say, and be. Period. The mission of ‘that geeked out life’ is the foundation on which this blog and brand were created:
